This is utterly insane. We will allow a Russian spy plane free - TopicsExpress

This is utterly insane. We will allow a Russian spy plane free access across the United States, zigzagging 2640 miles mapping, imaging, recording all military infrastructure and networking, logistics and anything else on the ground that heretofore had been kept secret. We have high, barbwire topped fences, electronic monitors, roaming guards around all our military bases and stations, and depots, just to keep our own citizens from snooping, and now we freely allow the Russians to have open access to all of it? The plane that the Russians will be flying is the Tupolev Tu-154M-LK-1, which the Russians have reported to the UN is an observation aircraft. In truth, this plane is a large, wide-bodied, heavy driven by three massive Soloviev D-30 series engines, similar in structure and design to the old US made Lockheed LL-1011 airliner, and is capable of carrying a payload similar to the Boeing 747, which means that this very large, very long range flying aircraft will be stuffed with a quarter-million pounds of electronic and imaging spy payload. In other words, this is Russias largest payload aircraft with longest flight range enabling them to put to use all of their spying technology in one historic and utterly insanely misguided free pass across America. Oh, yes, the UN Open Skies Treaty allows US personnel aboard the Russian aircraft to monitor the activities of the flight crew. Really? And exactly what good does that do? Why not open all our Top Secret vaults and stand by, watching, while the Russian spies duplicate all the documents on hand too? Why does a foreign power even want to know our military structure, assembly, networks, infrastructure, communications, codes, numbers of vehicles, aircraft, inventory, arms and on and on? Why? In case they must fight us, this will help them defeat us. This information gives them targeting data so that when they launch the rain of nuclear missiles from their still operational silos across much of the old Soviet empire, the strike will take out everything that matters. Same strategy that Japan had hitting Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941, except God was on our side and much of our fleet was out of port. Trouble with all this land base information, however, it does not move around much. Such rich target information is the same thing as giving the Russians the keys to our vaults. Will the USA get the same rich target information from Vladimir Putin and his old KGB gang of cutthroats? Dont make me laugh! Russia and the truth do not mix well, and President Putin cant remember the last time he ever uttered a truthful word. And consider that the United States today has sent a goodly number of American forces to Ukraine in support of that independent nations effort to remain free from Russian incursion. Have we forgotten the Malaysian airliner shot down over Ukraine by Russian rockets last year? For decades the Saul Alinsky enamored American socialist movement, sparked by his 1971 book, Rules for Radicals, people like our President and Secretary of State and former Secretary of State and much of the State Department and presidential cabinet hierarchy, have held an unyielding romance for the old Soviet Union and its Marxist ideals. Thus the idea of cozying up to the Russian Bear is fuzzy and wonderful in their idealistic delirium. It reminds me of an incident in the late 1980s when I lived in New York City, and two sixth-grade boys who saw the polar bears at the Brooklyn Zoo during a school outing, regarded how lovable and cuddly they looked, and that evening, after school and after the zoo had closed, went back and climbed in the enclosure with the bears. Security guards heard the screaming, but were too late to save either child from slaughter by the polar bears. Yes, polar bears are beautiful, and have such a Labrador Retriever look of love on their faces. But polar bears hunt humans, and eat them, along with most other mammals in the arctic. Likewise Vladimir Putin and his Russian gang of thugs put on the sweet, kind and trusting face of diplomacy, but all the while they remain that very dangerous bear. This romantic act of lunacy puts all of America at serious risk, and will require very costly countermeasures that perhaps cannot overcome the intelligence damage done to Americas defense capabilities.
