This is what a very good friend did yesterday...Drove 6 hours round trip to save this boxer. A true rescue effort...thank you for taking time out of your busy life to help this boy. Hes going to be lots of work for sure, but its unbelievable what some dogs endure...I can barely stand to think of his life. I got there... It was like in back woods, trailer park Louisiana... He was in a smallll crate, curled up in a ball... Hes huge (like fat)... I was confused about that until I asked them what theyd been feeding him... Buckets of lard... Yup, thats correct. They take the leftover/thrown out lard from the crawfish restaurant (operated from a trailer) across the street... And put chunks of lard for him to lick/eat up into his crate. Wtf. Then.... A kid comes running in and sprays him right in the face with a water hose (for fun?)... They had little yipper dogs running around antagonizing Thor... He just looked so defeated. So I go to let him out of the crate and the guy tells me to wait... Grabs a gun from by the wall of the garage... Walks over and bangs it against the crate... I tell him to stop and ask him what hes doing... He explains that dogs need to fear guns in order to obey... Turns out Thor has several BB gun scars from being shot... And has also been shot a few times by an actual shot gun... He is NOT good around other dogs... Which totally makes sense considering hes been picked on and attacked by other dogs while in his crate... The guy said Thor broke out a few times and always ended up in fights with other dogs, and was shot by the neighbor on at least two occasions. Theres so much more to the crazy story that Im too tired and lazy to type.
