This is what happens when two self-professed liberals debate about religion. I am somewhat confused, who is standing up for what? But overall a good intellectual discourse. It is a universal system (also practiced in religious academic Islamic circles I think) whereby through thorough argumentation and debate - no sword brandishing or AK47 wielding needed - one can arrive at a better understanding and much deeper appreciation of differences, instead of painting one colour across all the spectrum. We need to sow the seeds of intellectual debate over overt demonstration of power, a show of force that often turns anarchic, when faced with widely different opinions/views.
