This is what happens when you are living on the EDGE- it changes your whole way of life... Well done, LouLou!! Great read. Loulou’s Blog - Day 5 Today was my mate’s birthday (happy birthday Sam!) so, in celebration of this, today I planned my “cheat” meal. I imagined burger, chips, pizza, potato wedges, nachos, sour cream, curry, pad thai, pie, fried chicken, the creamiest of pastas … I couldn’t wait for dinner time! In preparation for Sam’s birthday celebrations after work, I back-to-backed MMB and my WOD in the gym in the morning to ensure I didn’t miss anything on my Map. Got my Mum to take my photos this morning (hence why I look half asleep and pale – it was a little early for a photo shoot!). Knocked out 8 rounds of MMB and went straight into “GI Jane”. Quite liked the “ice skaters” and the “pulse squats” as it goes Lots of H2O consumed in my 50 minutes of working out too (downside though was the amount of trips to the loo during the rest of the morning!). There was cake galore at work today too. Sam’s birthday cakes of course, but also a 30 year anniversary cake for one of the partners … everyone gathered in the conference room to congratulate (or commiserate!) him … and mammoth slabs of coffee and walnut cake were passed around (it did look extremely tasty!) … and I, mouth watering, politely declined (Am I mad?!). So I survived the cake fest thinking I have my cheat meal coming up, cake would be allowed … got to the restaurant for Sam’s birthday meal … mmmmm what shall I have? Pizza, pasta, chips? Cake for afters? No. I chose something from the less than 600 calories options?!! I just didn’t fancy any “grease” or “stodge”. Hello what’s happened to me?! This must be what the EDGE does to you! I had steak on a bed of salad with far too much oily lemon dressing (would think it probably qualified as “cheat” – it was VERY oily). The dressing was so slippery I had a hysterical moment when I tried to cut a piece of red pepper and lost a load of salad when it fired off my plate and on to the floor. However, I wasn’t a total angel … I did have garlic bread for starters and a not so skinny latte for afters. So I did “cheat” and oh yes, it was worth it! It was also Emma’s 38th birthday today as it turned out (happy birthday Emma!). So, in celebration of this, Stephen thought it a good idea for us all do to 38 full press ups. I pledged I would do this when I got home before my EMB. So, to keep to my word, I got in, rolled my mat out and thought just do this … and I was amazed to find that I could do this! I actually managed the whole 38 on my toes! I did them in 4 sets with 30 seconds rest in between, but I did do them! Arooooooooooooo! (Excuse the excessive use of exclamation marks today !!!)
