This is what the real housing crisis in Auckland looks like: meaning that generations of people (disproportionately Pacific, young, and poor people) are locked out of any chance of home ownership: and the path to wealth that home ownership provides. Then, at the same time as there are few options for buying a home, this government launches an assault on state housing. This, when we know how important home stability is for childrens educations and families health and wellbeing. We must save our state houses ( action.labour.org.nz/ ), as well as build new and affordable houses in order to make sure that all Aucklanders have a chance to live in healthy and affordable homes.
