This is where my Mom got the idea to make sausage balls so many years ago, on the side of a Bisquick box. These are a family tradition, I make them a few times through out the years but more specifically during Christmas and Thanksgiving. Though this recipe sounds tasty, I have an even simpler one that I use. Sausage (I usually go for Jimmy Dean Sausage in one of those long tube-like packages), Bisquick Mix, and Shredded Cheddar Cheese. The best rule of thumb, the same my Mom told me, is: Use 1 Cup of Bisquick Mix, and 1 8oz bag of shredded cheddar cheese for every pound of sausage. (Sometimes I add a little bit more Bisquick Mix but thats up to you and youll learn how they should be as you get more used to making them.) This is an excellent appetizer that will not disappoint.
