This is why I love photography! A manual exposure-blended - TopicsExpress

This is why I love photography! A manual exposure-blended panorama of 24 tiles x 3 exposures from the highest point in Borneo. It was a really long journey both to ascend the mountain in the rain and bitter cold, as well as to process this piece, but well worth it Id say. I couldnt have asked for better light, as a gap suddenly appeared between storm clouds. As soon as the amazing light showed itself, I shot these 72 frames within one minute, starting with the amazing clouds and working my way down to the jagged rocky foreground. My widest lens was a 21mm, and I wanted an extremely wide field of view as everything around me looked incredible. There was added challenge. Even though the brackets were all shot tripod-mounted, the gale-force winds and my shivering from being cold and wet caused a good deal of movement between frames. I also had to dry the lens every few seconds or so from rain getting on the front element, which was really difficult. Here I was, standing shakily on the highest rock in the third-largest island on the planet taking pictures, with my brother holding on to my legs to make sure I didnt fall forwards by more than a vertical mile. In my excitement, I had shot in aperture priority, and in blending exposures I had to match the exposures of the different frames for consistency throughout the panorama. Despite me shooting this on the Christmas of 2012, I have only been happy with this version of the piece, my fourth attempt. Hope you guys like it! Cheers.
