This is why Marshall Johnson is one of the strongest men in powerlifting without even touching a weight..... I assumed the meet was full until I received the following email this evening: Hi Scott, my name is Rae Jean Armstrong and Im Josh Armstrongs mom. He works out with the RAVE special olympics powerlifting team on Sat. mornings and we met you last year at Relentless. You, Relentless and Marshall have made quite an impact on Josh!! Josh was born with XYY syndrome and diagnosed with autism at age 4. Last year he started lifting and loves it--wasnt sure what I thought of a 6 foot, 200# autistic boy working out and deadlifting 400# but its been AWESOME for Josh & given him a lot of focus! He has asked about raising money for Relentless and maybe doing a deadlift. Not really sure of the logistics about this--I realize this is a closed event and an actual competition for entries. Josh would like to raise money for Hope Kids with cancer and maybe wondering if that is even a possibility as a special olympics lifter. If so, would he have to raise the $500 or just whatever we could raise for Hope Kids. I am also checking with Ron Hamilton (think hes Joshs special olympics coach) about his lifting meets for special olympics and if Josh is even available on 3/29. Thank you for your time and consideration--what you guys are doing is AMAZING--Blessings on all of you!! It was so fun to hear one of Joshs staff talk about the guys at Southside Bully--he said theres all this huge guys lifting and then theyre all talking about God --way to let your light shine!! Rae Jean Armstrong It would be very easy to waive his fundraising commitment but we do not want to cheat him out of feeling a full part of Relentless. I am asking everyone to once again, join us and please help. I assure you, this is the best money you will ever spend; its a sure thing.
