This is why the GOP loses national elections. Unless you gerrymander districts to include supermajorities of white middle aged voters (some big box states are naturally gerrymandered) you will elect liberal, progressive, Democratic type leaders. But in those gerrymandered districts without diversity beyond which Fox News blonde is their favorite, you will get this disconnect of voters desires with their elected officials mindset.
