This isnt the Pasco County education I remember growing up with...seriously, if any teacher of my little sister needs to bust out a paddle to get her nose in the books and make sure she stays on task so that she doesnt become lazy or complacent...and actually realizes the importance of a real education and not this froufrou Thanks for sitting there and breathing, heres a medal. mentality, Im all for it. I am scared for her future...You cant expect something for nothing in this world...ambition and perseverance is what we should be instilling into todays youth, reward those that put forth a true effort to learn and better themselves...not entitlement and acceptance of mediocrity. Dont settle! Strive to achieve something and do something with your life. This type of negative media and humiliation should be a wakeup call. So sad. Kelly Ripa is laughing at your kids...maybe proper retaliation would be to make sure little Johnny or Suzy did an hour of reading before picking up the TV remote, cell phone or I-whatever...they might actually learn something, improve their grades and possibly run for office one day...Parents, being busy isnt an excuse, were gonna need these kids to take care of us when we begin falling apart physically...I can see my 98 year old butt, fartin dust, at the doctor, who just so happens to be a product of todays generation of minimalistic discipline practices and waning moral value and being given an aspirin and a lollipop for my time and social security money (if theres anything left to collect), instead of proper treatment. Ive had it...this is exactly why I watch nothing but brainless reality competition shows and cartoons, I dont rant nearly as hard if one of my characters are voted off the island...or spongebob fails his boating license exam. Fiction is less scary than an impending idiocracy.
