This just confirms what many have long suspected - that if any group dares to challenge the polices privilege to be the sole custodians of a criminal investigation, however ineptly and corruptly carried out, then theyll think nothing of spending public money on spying on those groups to see what dirt they can dig. It wont matter if those groups are made up of victims and their family and friends. Next time someone tries to tell you that the police are accountable, or that the system has all sorts of checks and balances to keep them under control, then you can point to this case, Hillsborough, and the other undercover cases to show otherwise.
