This just in from Mr. Rector: "According to research {Rector, 2012} students who pass each unit exam will subsequently pass the final exam. Furthermore, the data also seems to suggest those students who have met all of the standards in addition to completing the exams recieved higher scores than those who had multiple standards missing. It is because of this reasoning that I exempt all of you from your final exam...(pause for applause and cheer). However, not everyone has met all standards or passes all exams yet. Here are my instructions for the exam period: - If you are a student who has met all of the standards and tests, and identified at least 12 big picture standards in your project THAT YOU PRESENTED ON then you should drop off your lab book in the back, and you are free to go; - If you are a student who is missing exams of standards then you have this period to work on that. For the tests you only have to make up the portions that you failed, making sure you revieve at least 26 points out of 36. Copies of tests will be available on haiku (electrostatics is in physics exams). Take pictures of your standards and post them to Haiku under each appropriate category, then send me one email with the code word "chimichanga" as the subject. You are allowed to use textbooks/partners/haiku. When you are done drop your lab book off in the back and help others. - If you are a student who has met all of the standards and passed all of the tests, yet did not meet 12 standards on your project, your assignment is to stay and help the previous section of students to accomplish their goals of meeting all standards and passing all tests. When everyone is done drop your lab book off in the back. Thank you guys for an amazing year, I really appreciate all of your hard work, flexibility, and suggestions on how to improve. Without all of you it would have taken me years to slowly come to the realizations and thoughts that I have now. Thanks again and I will hopefully see you at graduation!"
