This keeps crossing my mind...... I graduated from Hamburg High School in 2004. HOW BOUT THEM LIONS!?=) I was inducted into the National Honor Society in Junior High & upheld that membership throughout High School. Years ago, Hamburg had a nursing home on HWY 82. Members of the Junior High Honor Society wanted to do something special for their community. We decided to give the nursing home a Valentines party that year❤. Every member gave gifts to the people in the nursing home. Every person in the nursing home had visitors. Keep in mind that some of those people didnt have family, & some did, but didnt have visitors in awhile. We decorated the nursing home and played bingo with those sweet people. We had little snacks and also set aside time for everyone to go to their assigned people and get to know them a little and enjoy their company as they enjoyed ours. .....I am here to tell you that was the greatest thing Ive ever done! Those people were very appreciative. Those people were filled with JOY and they loved us being there with them. Tears were shed when it was time to leave, both them & us. I am filled with JOY every time I reflect on that Valentines party at the nursing home because I know that we made a difference in those peoples lives!!! Amen! I will never forget those people. I may not remember their names, but I still see their faces....with big smiles so bright, JOYFUL, & thankful. ......I love you people & yall too made a difference in my life!❤
