This last Friday Blandford hosted over 100 volunteers from GE Aviation. Each year the company pledges to cover materials and human power on several projects through a special grant program. For the last several years Blandford is honored to receive funding. GE divided into six teams to conquer what seemed to be unfathomable amounts of work for one afternoon. Thanks to our amazing maintenance and grounds coordinator Martin Ferrone, all the projects were prepped in advance. GE installed apple trees, split rail fence, erosion control rocks, hauled ash logs, updated the playscape, planted native shrubs, mulched the trails, installed new interpretive signs and filled in pot holes.
