This last year has been busy, especially in the last few weeks. As I’ve finished my finals and I’ve made my preparations to graduate this weekend I’ve finally had the time to finish reevaluating my goals and re-launching my webpage to match. It is very simple, very clean; it doesn’t show galleries, only a simple slide show that demonstrates my diversity and skill. I’ve felt like I’ve moved into a new phase of my photographic journey and the re-launching is a symbolic way of starting the move forward. And what is a new beginning without new pictures? Boring! That’s what! To that end I’d also like to share my last major work, the one that convinced me I had moved into a new phase of my art. It came about due to my last and final photography class of my bachelor degree. It allowed me the time and motivation to work on one project for a full ten weeks. It was a very eye opening experience, and by the end I had a small series of pictures I was proud of. The teacher’s enthusiasm and support for my finished project went well beyond my expectations. Sadly, the grandeur of the project is slightly lost when viewed online. They were printed on a special type of metallic photographic paper and were large, 16” x 24", to be exact, but even viewed on the computer I am proud to have made them. The process of creating the set and creating a self-contained story through the use of miniatures was exhilarating and when the class ended, I knew that my journey had just begun. I will be starting a Kickstarter project in the next few weeks in an attempt to help fund my next project, which will be a continuation of the one I did for school, but taken to the next level, with custom models, larger, more detailed sets and an altogether larger body of work! Keep checking in over the coming weeks! In addition to my next project I will also be adding new portraits; I’ve recently tried my hand at newborn photography and once again tried some self-portraits. I hope to continue working with both new and old friends, and I’m considering doing a contest in the near future. https://facebook/media/set/?set=a.422265711213926.1073741827.217130625060770&type=1
