This law suit thats been issued,why are recreational fishermen and pages like the NCFMY freaking out. Commercial fishermen have been dealing with an Incidental take permit for 15 years over turtles. Because we have interactions with turtles. So do recreational fishermen and boat traffic. Nothing against either,I love doing both. But if you have interaction with endangered species with hook n line,thats no different than a net. Pages like the NCFMY have been crying,get nets out of the water to stop interactions with turtles. Well,hooks also interact with turtles. If youre gonna look out for a so called endangered species,you have to protect it no matter what the interaction is. But,why dont recreational and commercial fishermen fight together to help prove these turtles are no longer endangered? Thats part of the law suit,to require a stock assessment on the sea turtles. Something the state and federal government has refused to do as required.... Why wont they do a count?? Most of us know the answer to that... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
