This letter card, featuring Santa in a brown robe, was made by the Berlin Firm of Martin Schlesinger, early 1900s. Letter cards made by this company always featured honeycomb, and were made not just for Christmas, but for other occasions also. The sender wrote a message on the outside, then sealed the card. To see the surprise inside the card, the perforated edge around the card had to be removed. This particular card was never used.
