This little guy ran into our window yesterday. I ran outside after hearing that dreaded noise and found him on the deck in an upright position. I got down and saw that his eyes were open but he didnt seem to be able to move. I gently picked him up and let him sit on my open hand for almost 2 hours. He never seemed afraid or tried to move at all. I stood up several times so he could see the trees below the house but he just stayed in my hand while I talked to him, sang to him, and touched him very gently. Since I generally saw the chickadees come from the trees to the suet in the front of the house I decided to walk him through the house and out the front door. After about 5 minutes of facing those trees he stood up and flew off to the manzanita bush across the driveway. I watched for some time as he just stayed on that branch; then finally he moved up a branch. I ran and got my camera and took this picture. He moved up one or two branches at a time, and I finally lost track of him. Im hoping that he just has a bit of a headache today and that everything else is right in his world.
