This little wagon arrived this summer and the harness this past - TopicsExpress

This little wagon arrived this summer and the harness this past fall (2014). I received a telephone call from my friend Jim Sackett wanting to know if I wanted another wagon. He explained that there was a mini farm wagon for ponys in Wenatchee that needed a home and would need to be rebuilt but it had to be picked up within a couple days. I explained to Jim that I was just swamped at the time and would like to have it but just did not have the time to go get it. Well, Jim shows up a few days later with the wagon on his trailer. What an amazing friend. As you can see, this is a small (perhaps half) scale wagon built exactly like a full size farm double box wagon. Story is it was built by amish south of Iowa for a man who lived in Iowa. Sorry I do not have his name at the time but it is on the side of the seat. Then the wagon ended up out west at his daughters where they had it in their yard. Later in the fall Jim called me and gave me the number of the wagon owner who had the pony harness that went with the wagon. I really wanted to keep these two together. The price was right so home it came. This wagon will need a rebuild but it was be a fun project and it should be rather easy. The wheels are already at Mr. Lees being rebuild. I just need to find the proper wood for the box (most likely poplar) and then we can get started on it. What a fun little item this will be and we will keep it authentic right down to the name on the side of the seat.
