This low voter turnout is very Sad, that means Blake was elected - TopicsExpress

This low voter turnout is very Sad, that means Blake was elected to office by a very small minority of the towns citizens. Its clear the Majority of voters in Milford did not relate well enough to Blake to even make it worth their while to get off the couch. The mindset that one person cant make a difference is brought home this election. If the voters of Milford were soldiers, they would all drop their rifles and retreat to the country to live on a few more months or days, what a sad state of affairs for our city. The reality is, and just ask yourself... How many people do I know who moved, either left for retirement in Florida, or have gone to a place that is more affordable?.. reality is that people came to our state and town for the education of their kids and with that, those who are struggling should ask themselves why do they even bother to live here? I can only come up with two answers, they are either so rich they do not care, or the Connecticut welfare state treats them far better than any other place they can go, either answer should be a huge embarrassment to the new Mayor who will assuredly give us two more tax increases. Just for a reality check, Sheltons taxes are 1/2 ours and if you go to New Marlboro Mass. the first town over the CT border to the West, their taxes are about 8 Mills Vs. our 30 Mills!! Drive 1 Block back over the state line to Norfolk and your Mill rate TRIPLES!! If you are broke, poor and could barely pay your electric bill now you know why.... you just love CT and Milford.
