This makes me furious! Ive heard of candidates buying elections but Ive never imagined a candidate buying a political party! Steve Adler is buying this election and his money is earning him the silence of the Travis County Democratic Party, while the TCDP have endorsed other candidates due to having partisan opponents on the ticket and Adler claiming to be a Democrat, the TCDP has not endorsed the actual Democratic on the ticket, Mike Martinez. LETS BE CLEAR, Steve Adler is NOT the Democrat on the ticket for mayor in this years election. With 89% of Republican support for Steve Adler, his message is clearly resonating with them and it is not a progressive message! I would encourage Mike Martinez to write an open letter to the Travis County Democratic Party asking for HIS parties endorsement and activism; likewise Jan Soifer aught to respond explaining to the only candidate that has been consistently progressive in his message and public record on the Austin City Council why the ONLY Democrat on the ticket does not deserve the Travis County Democratic Partys endorsement.
