This makes me sad. Especially since I know how many hours Ive spent lost in books. I cant help but wonder if the required reading lists in schools are what turn people off. Some of those books are fundamentally uninteresting to teenagers. They just are and theres nothing you can do to make them appealing. I know people like to say, yeah but they should read it because its a classic, but at what cost? Its important that people read, and its important for people (especially kids) to know that reading is not some high brow elitist activity thats not for you because books are boring. They just need to find the right books and all of us like something different. None is better or worse.
