This may get some controversy, but I feel it needs to be said. I, as a progressive LOVE Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. They are great Senators in the Teddy Kennedy mode. Both have contributed significant legislation, and are Lions of the Senate. Teddy would have been proud of them. HOWEVER, I dont wish either of them to run for President, for pragmatic reasons. The majority of the country isnt as liberal as the constituency that they represent. Look at Massachusetts and Maryland (two of the most Liberal states--Republican governors). If either Sanders or Warren runs, then we lose their voice in the Senate, and the Presidential election. Do you honestly think that either can win Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, and New Hampshire? Without at least 3-4 or those states, we have another John Kerry election, or worse, a McGovern election. President Obama was the Most Liberal Senator when he ran for President, but took steps to the center to get elected. This is essential to be pragmatic. This is why we need to stop trashing Hillary, and support her--be pragmatic, and think of the consequences of losing the White House to a Tea Party candidate.
