This message goes out to all who play Superhero City - any other - TopicsExpress

This message goes out to all who play Superhero City - any other folks may ignore this lengthy diatribe. The decision to keep me friended is entirely up to you, but come-what-may after reading through this, believe me when I say that its been an honor & a privilege to have played with you in this adventure, and I will never forget you, my friends. To those who leave me behind, I say take care; to those who keep me on, I say thank you. Since the official statement from EA Games that Superhero City, SupremeHero City & Age of Champions were sunsetting to the end of March this year, chaos has been the order of the day everyday by the gamers as well as the game itself. No long able to purchase merit points in the store, thereve been free handouts from the developers that ANYONE could collect. How does the hymn go? The last shall be first, and the weak shall be strong, and none shall be afraid. But we ARE afraid, in the Ragnarok of a game we understood to be our own. We all of us wanted to become heroes, even just for one day. There were even rumours that one or two players would save the game, buy it outright somehow & ask for developers and moderators, etc., to help out after purchase...who knows if such claims could be substantiated or even attainable? The rights alone would probably go as high as six figures, maybe even more, nevermind the time, effort, artwork, story work & maintenance to upkeep. Many feel betrayed, several have figured this as EAs m.o. as far as online gamings concerned. Who can say how far things will go now? The disillusioned shut down, the wounded with knives in their backs retreat to the wilderness, the idealists fight to the bitter end. Come what may, only one thing is certain - to take a dream, crush it & apologize afterwards, it is a bitter pill to swallow...especially when its your own windpipe thats been crushed along with it. Still, because of this game, Ive made more friends here on facebook than I ever could have in The Real. Because of this game, Ive come to know where & how strength can be weakness, and weakness can be strength. Because of this game, I learned more about roleplaying and how to be a better writer. If not for SHC, maybe I wouldnt be transformed as I am, inside. Even now, this stream of conscious thought, the likes of which I havent seen or had for over a year, pours out of me as steadily as a natural spring. All thanks to a company whose choice to venture into smartphone territory while abandoning PC social media gaming fuels my outrage & fervor. The imagination is now without limits, thanks to unconscienable enemies such as EA. Whatever they do now, I will not touch. What they promise will fall on deaf ears. SHC was our CLUBHOUSE, damn it! Not everyone has a smartphone - NOT EVERYONE CAN MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE AS YOU DEMOLISH OUR PLACE! I can only hope this ill-conceived choice of theirs will result in absolute ruin, as even fewer players will invest in even fewer transactions to support Eels Anonymous. Mark my words.
