This might piss some of my friends off, but here it goes. Since the Ferguson and Garner Grand Jury (GJ) decisions, the ACAB/anti-police bandwagon has been loaded to max capacity. Seems like everyone and their mother hates the police and thinks they could have done a better job even though theyve never walked a second in a policemans boots. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but that doesnt mean each opinion has value or credibilty attached to it. Since then, Ive had tons of people ask me my opinion on those GJ decisions and how I feel about all the anti-police establishment. My stance has never changed and it probably never will. I did not get into this business to be loved or glamorized, nor do I wish to be; we will leave that to the usual suspects. Does it feel good every now and then to get a pat in the back and feel appreciated? Sure, of course it does. Do I need it or want it? No. My satisfaction comes from the fact that I know I made a direct and positive change in peoples lives and their neighborhoods by ridding the streets of career criminals, gang members, rapists, murderers, terrorists and other assorted bad guys. When I drive thru certain parts of the City, and see the streets safer than they were before, thats my pat on the back. You do not have to love me or love the police, but you do have to do what I say when I say it, when I am giving you a lawful command and order. So, to the general populace, feel free to continue to hate the police. Hate is just a distorted version of love. It is your hangup that you have to deal with and resolve-not us. Remember when we were teenagers and all hated our parents for telling us what to do, but then years later we realized that they were right and were glad for the fact that they were stern with us and keep us on track? Yep. Same thing goes for this situation. To my fellow law enforcement sheep dogs, stop wallowing in the fact that the court of public opinion is swaying against us. Fight the good fight, stand tall, stay vigilant, look out for one another, be right and be first. An innocent man fears no one! Respectfully submitted, Knocko Nolan
