This morning, I decided to do a 9km run from home to Upper Pierce - TopicsExpress

This morning, I decided to do a 9km run from home to Upper Pierce Reservoir via YCK Rd to get killed by the slopes. The planned route is suppose to be hilly and at the same time scenic. It was too dark to enjoy any scenery while I was pounding on YCK Rd until I reached Old Upper Thomson Road where I bump into brudder and his friend who were just starting their run too. Without much delay after saying Hi and Bye, I continued my run into the killer slopes ground, Upper Pierce. Once I enter the gate, the sky has already been breaking and the further I run into the nature, the brighter the sky gets. I stopped, take photos, stopped, take photos,....and continue doing this until I reached the end of the reservoir where the sky has become totally bright. Went to the toilet to re-fill my water bottle and pull my focus back to running. Although it is a hilly route this morning but it teaches me two very important things: 1) Running up slope - it teaches me to maintain a good running form so that I could use less energy to conquer the killer slopes. i.e. land on fore/mid-foot and push off using the heel with the body slightly lean forward; 2) Running down slope - it teaches me to land on mid-foot/whole foot in order not to over-stride and avoid hurting the joints especially the knees.
