This morning, I had to get up a little earlier and leave out to go - TopicsExpress

This morning, I had to get up a little earlier and leave out to go do a job in Gastonia, out in the freezing cold. On the way up there, I checked Facebook and saw a post from a friend Wanda Brock Petty Be careful out there today. Dangerous temperatures! As I got out of the truck and started blowing the parking lot free of debris and pine needles, I was frustrated, freezing, and complaining about it all to myself. Then I thought of those words Wanda posted, and they stung just like that cold wind did on my face. See, I was out there thinking how cold I was and being selfish. And when I thought of what she said, I began to stop thinking of myself, and started thinking of all those homeless folks that are out here, right here in York County and up in the coldest parts of the United States in places like New York who are out there sleeping on the streets in this awful bitter cold and dont have half as much to keep them warm as most of us do, and I began to weep for those people and for myself for being so selfish and complaining about being cold. I am BLESSED people. WE are BLESSED!!! If you are able to get on Facebook, have a home, have a family, have a job or just dont have to be out in this cold YOU ARE BLESSED!!! I want to thank Wanda for those words this morning and for being a GREAT person and most of all, a SELFLESS FRIEND!!! She has helped me in many ways, and many others as well. I really believe she was put in my life for a reason. But I want to thank her the most for humbling me this morning and making me realize these people are the ones that need our help that I am truly BLESSED!
