This morning I read something online. A spoiler for a certain upcoming film. Something that I didnt think the studio making the film would go through with. Im betting that over the coming weeks several people will grow loudly upset, and cries of women in refrigerators will reverberate across the internet. I havent seen the flick yet (I intend to ASAP) but if this event was handled in the same manner as it was in the source material I have about a dozen reasons why I think the term is misplaced. Principal among those is that some characters are surrounded by a bubble of tragedy that doesnt discriminate based on gender (or anything else for that matter) The significance of the death in question is simple proximity to a hero who is dangerous to know. I understand some people may disagree with that assessment. *shrug* okay. I cant tell you how to feel. But I gotta tell you, I cant wait to cry in a packed theater next week. Ill bring tissues for everyone.
