This morning I realized I typed a complete sentence in Facebook - TopicsExpress

This morning I realized I typed a complete sentence in Facebook Messenger entirely of words suggested to me by this Smartphone. In fact, it is no longer typing but just touching words that pop up. Then later this morning I read a commentary in the latest Time Magazine by Ray Kurzweil on artificial intelligence (AI). His focus was on the safeguards that need to be in place to protect us from AI. Why? Well, a pessimistic view from Stephen Hawking is, Once humans develop artificial intelligence, it would take off on its own and redesign itself . . . The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. I was saddened to learn that because I had just been so happy to have a machine that helps me spell intelligence automatically.
