This morning Park City Balloon Adventures came about 30 feet over my horses and even though the horses have seen them before, this was way too close and they spooked to an extreme. I have a recovering (from tendon tear) old Pony that has now re-injured herself. I somehow managed to let the horses out in the pasture to escape without getting hurt myself. The passengers were all horrified seeing what might have happened to me when trying to let the horses out. The owner of Park City Balloons called me to finally apologize, but stated he had permission to land, which I questioned and called the person he named who denied that he had ever given them permission. He also said he had permission from the Church which I said was fine, land at the church, not on private property and try to learn how horses react and to be considerate. He kept saying that Hot Air Balloons are not always exact and predictable and that it was his concern for safety of his passengers...scary. I think we should all let them know that we do not wish him to land or come within a reasonable height of our properties.
