This morning a very precious cat was run over in Beech Trees lane Ipplepen.Some callous person left this cat for dead in the middle of the road. Others in their hast to get somewhere drove over this dying cats body. A lovely elderly lady walking her dog found the cat still breathing at 8.10 this morning and thinking the cat belonged to us came in to tell us. During the 100 mtr walk down the lane cars speeded past her and the cat. One woman on a school run slowed momentarily to pass the elderly lady who had to ask her slow down. only to speed up again . These people know who they are! There is a diversion at the moment so all the traffic is using this lane making it dangerous for us all. Nicci and I took the badly injured cat to Seymour Vets who told us that there was nothing that could be done. They made her comfortable and via the microchip found the contact details of the owners. Massie passed away at 8.45 this morning in the warm on a snugly blanket with people who cared not on her own in the middle of the road. To some this may have only been a cat. To its owners and us it was a wonderful little friend. Katty Kat as we knew her had decided that Watergate should be her abode of preference and for the last 2 yrs has been chief mouse control officer and companion to Nicci whilst out in the yard.
