This morning after the holiday break, all of our garden mulch was discovered to have been scratched away and spread all over the soccer area at Preschool. While using wheelbarrows and rakes to return it to the garden areas, we discussed how it had all got there. We agreed that it was probably the brush turkey that sometimes visited- the bird would have had the time of its life because usually it is given a huge work out with a number of children chasing it through the playground. We think that the wind blew the turkeys scratched up nest around the playground. There was a lot of other gardening today also in the form of putting up a tomato trelise, pruning, watering and weeding. Such a great way for children to learn about the environment, to use energy and to accomplish a common goal.
