This morning as I was sitting at a stoplight I noticed a very old homeless man with his big German Shepard dog walking in his worn dirty jeans and what looked like everything he owned on his back. I pulled into the gas station that he was walking by and as he tied up his dog under a tree nearby, I walked up to him and handed him EVERYTHING I could find in my purse/car.......it was a little over $2.00. You literally would have thought I handed him one hundred dollars, he was so incredibly thankful. He introudcued mt to his sweet sweet dog and thanked me over and over. As I walked away, the looks I received from other human beings sitting in their cars staring was disgusting, one guy standing by the door even said, you know when you do that, it makes them more likely to stick around. All I could do was laugh at him in disbelief and walk on (I would still give him my two dollars if he were homeless). Really disappointed in the human race right now, becasue chances are that homeless man would share his lunch with you anyday of the week if you were in need!
