This morning as I went out to the barn to milk I could hear what sounded like something walking around in the dead leaves under both of the maple trees in the front and side yards. Sounded like deer, or some varmit rustling around. But the dogs were with out me and were ignoring these sounds. Which I thought was strange, they would allow such an intruder. So I went in the house and got a flashlight so I could investigate. Come to find out the leaves on the trees were so heavily laden with frost, that when they fell onto the leaves on the ground, they made the same sound as something walking around. I heard a quote yesterday from an unnamed source that really moved me. It holds more true today than yesterday. You can tell its cold outside, when you go outside and its cold. Not ready for this.
