This morning at about 1am, the East Avon Fire Department was dispatched mutual aid to the Rush Volunteer Fire Department, for a reported structure fire in the 6800 block of West Henrietta Road. Rush reported a working fire in an abandoned single family style home. C2701 (AC Batzel) and C2702 (AC Faugh) along with Quint 278 (LT Ayres, FFs Bartolini, Faugh, Morrow, Pelligrino and EMS Captain Brown) responded to the scene. AC Batzel was assigned as the Incident Safety Officer and AC Faugh was assigned as an Aid to the Incident Commander. The crew of Q278 assisted Rush, Henrietta and Scottsville in extinguishment of the fire and overhaul of the structure. A crew also stood by in East Avon to cover both Avon and East Avon, as Avon P224 filled in Rush Station #1.
