This morning, early, we docked at Casablanca, Morocco. I also woke up hacking and coughing with a sinus infection. Felt miserable all night but got out there and toured Casablanca and Rabat. I, again, was amazed at this city. Very European yet very quaint. Casablanca is a hustle bustle city. OMG the traffic. Today we saw many fender benders. I would certainly not like to drive in this metropolis. Crossing the street is like taking your life in your hands. Simply horrible. Part of the city still has the wonderful french style architecture. In the new area, when the French exited, the french buildings were razed and in their place building of Moorish style. Which is not all that wonderful to look at, oh yes, Everywhere in the Casablanca area there is building of new ugly apartments. Almost like those sterile structures in St. Petersburg, Russia. Everyone has a satellite dish may it be a luxury apartment, or a shack. We went through a very upscale neighborhood that made on feel like driving down a street in Coral Gables, FL. Beautiful homes surrounded by lush coconut palms. I find Casablanca very clean. We drove over to Rabat, the Capitol of Morocco. Saw the US Embassy along with many more on embassy row. We did stop by the third largest Mosque in the world. Gosh, it is huge. It sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. With underground parking for many cars. We did have lunch in a fine Moroccan restaurant. The food was quite tasty. We then went to the Kasbah, an ancient walled city. We wondered through the narrow steets for about thirty minutes. Then off to the Royal Palace to take photos. One of the few places that allowed us to take photos of the guards. We then visited Mohammed Vs mausoleum. We were allowed to take photos there as well. We got back to the ship an hour late and the gang plank was pulled after we boarded the ship. Soon the ship set sail for our next port being Ceuta, Spain at the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea and near the Strait of Gibraltar. Anyway looking forward to another exciting day, Barbara and Larry
