A parent writes, My husband and I really LOVE to cosleep. However, we didnt start cosleeping from the start. We started a couple weeks ago (baby is 4 months). We are nursing/rocking her to sleep and once shes in a deep sleep we put her in the crib. We never let her cry if she wakes up. So shes in the crib to sleep from 7pm to anytime from midnight or 4am and then we put her in our bed for the rest of the night. It has been working for us so far, but there are nights I dont even want to put her in the crib at all. However, I work from 7pm-10pm and my husband doesnt go to bed until I come home. Which is why we put her in the crib at first. My question is does this way of doing this fall under the category called reactive cosleeping? I read that it is not a good idea and can cause sleep problems later in life for the baby. Is this true? I really want the absolute best for my baby and would be so sad if this would cause her to have problems later on. Do you know anything about this term? If this does fall under reactive co sleeping then is it ok to just ditch the crib now and 100% bed share instead, or is it too late? If we do bed share the entire night, where do babies sleep before the parents go to bed? I also just saw on your page to attach the crib to the bed (drmomma.org/2010/01/turn-your-crib-into-cosleeper.html) and this really intrigued me. That could be an option for us... What are people putting in between the crib mattress and the bed mattress so that theres no gap? Again, where is the baby sleeping before the parents go to bed? I am so desperate to figure this all out soon while shes still pretty young. Thank you! || Safe CoSleeping || FB/groups/CoSleeping
