This morning it is my heart to talk about failure. God wants you to know that failing at something is okay. Did you hear me? Yes, it is okay to fail when attempting to do something or learn something. Its even okay that you failed at being a good wife/marriage, a good parent, a good worker or a good steward of your finances. You did hear me correctly! Now listen closely to this just because you failed at something or everything in your life THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOU A FAILURE. God wants you to know that just because you werent successful in your attempts due to lack of knowledge, ignorance, choice or confusion its okay. You and I are forgiven by the sweet and loving Jesus Christ. What God is saying to you today is lay it all down at the cross. He wants you to take the time to talk to Him and spill it all out. Get all that garbage out and leave it out. I have an analogy for you the Lord gave me several years ago. Okay so you have garbage and you put it in the trash can in your kitchen. Okay so then on Tuesday the garbage man is coming so you take the trash out to the curb and the garbage man puts it in his garbage truck. Then the garbage gets taken to the dump and gets deposited with all the other garbage. Okay heres where I make the correlation. Constantly reflecting on failures, hurts and disappointments can be likened to sniffing the garbage. When you put the garbage in the trash can in your kitchen you dont go back and smell it do you? NO, but that is in essence what you are doing when you go over your failures etc. It would stink wouldnt if after a week of the trash being in the can. So what happens after the trash is outside in the can waiting for the garbage man would you go smell it then? NO it stinks more doesnt it because it is beginning to rot! Now would you drive all the way to the dump to smell your garbage?!?!?!? YUK!!! It would really be gross and stinky and rotten by then and even toxic. Do you get my point? Leave the garbage of the past in the past because every time you revisit it, it gets more and more gross and toxic! Leave it at the foot of the cross and walk away just like you leave your garbage at the dump.
