This morning my biological father left a message on my answering machine telling me to call him back that it was important. At that moment I knew what he needed to tell me . I knew he would tell me Grandma had passed away. I was prepared for this moment and wondered when it would sneak up on me. My grandma Pauline Herren lived a very long full life , I am sure it will hit me later but for now I have not shed a tear because I know that her life in the nursing home being bedridden was not a life she wanted. I am thankful that I took time to go visit her and brush her hair , hold her hand , pray with her and tell her that I miss and love her. I did not know that the last time when I held her hand and stroked her hair that it would be my last time her on earth with her. While my heart does hurt I am left with sweet memories of her that I will always cherish. Rest in Peace Grandma you can visit with grandpa , your mom and your daughter now and rejoice with Jesus because your old life is no more and your new one lives on!
