This morning on the 50th anniversary of the day John F Kennedy was - TopicsExpress

This morning on the 50th anniversary of the day John F Kennedy was shot in 1963 I am reminiscing that Tony and I were at Woodmont Elem in 2nd grade. Our teacher was Mrs. Shaeffer and we both remember her crying. They evacuated the playground and made us stay in our classroom. I guess they were concerned there would be copycat snipers at an elementary school. (WTF?). I just remember it was really scary. I also remember later that day going to Lundstroms with my mom and her and the checker were talking about it and I said my teacher even cried! Weird what we remember all those years ago. To this day one of the things I am scared of is snipers...Weird. It was so solemn we watched the funeral procession (in black and white of course) and his family on that day will forever be in my memory. Such an impact. Also really weird on that momentous day Tony and I have the same memories of 2nd grade.
