This movie Kill the Messenger that I will give 4 stars was pitiful as clearly the CIA is the cause of the Crack epidemic plaguing our America and this poor reporter who was only doing his job was forced out of his career, shunned by his own peers- fellow colleagues and eventually killed... His murder was documented as a suicide with two bullets to the head? Later when the head of the CIA did step down this God awful story of corruption was over shadowed by media coverage of President Clintons affair with his aide? I also feel this movie will come and go without igniting any change which makes me want to pull out my hair. Honestly I am still processing and Sean Stevenson whos co-defendant in this movie who was genuinely in shock when his attorney told him the government informative testifying against him was the big fish who was his boss and the leader. Sean said a lot was left out but at least Gary Webb received some justice with this movie coming out not to mention Sean Stevenson, his co-defendant and millions that this epidemic has effected just like the heroin epidemic now which we all know is steamed from pharmaceutical companies lobbyist and government corruption- love of money ... While waiting for Sean and John Fisher to arrive Joshua Lint and I told all the employees at this movie theater our story of what we do and Seans story of coming through this experience after 22 years spent in Federal prison and with his partner John he today fights to End the Violence and mentors young people so they put down the gangbanging life style and do not spend years in prison. They are activists like me for Peace! One theatre employee told us that he feels we should see a movie called a place called home, I think it was, he wrote it down for me and I asked what effected him the most when seeing the movie that he said reflected all that I was saying to him?... He used the word Recidivism and today I will end this post grateful that a young white male of his background did catch on to that immensely powerful issue effecting the United States through a movie. Thats what movies and media should use their power for. To expose the masses to the truth that shall set them free and keep them safe...
