This one is my next favorite after the Crested Kingfisher, from my Pangot Sattal 2010 series. We were done with our 4th day long birding trip to this magical place. On the way back to hotel, Amit had just said, “one in the wish list remained for next time – Blue throated barbets”. I must call it an extreme degree of coincidence that this pair was just in front of us and that too, Amit spotted them. We stopped the car. I could hardly manage to get a few pictures with my camera handheld and with the falling evening light and all pictures were shaken. I had to get a sharper picture and I took out my tripod and could manage to get this picture before it flew off. Last bird to be photographed in the entire trip and it was such a treat…. an icing on the cake – all is well that ends well.
