This one is quite apt for today. This is who we called Aunty Margaret, who was my grandfathers (F.S. Cockerell) SCOTTISH 2nd wife after Nana Cockerell passed away. Here she is sitting with a cousin and me (3 1/2 years old in about June 1956). We are sitting in front of the most photographed garage of garages on Gilbert Road hill, when the house belonged to my grandpa, which he sold to mum and dad in 1962. I used go and stay on Gilbert Road hill with Grandpa and Aunty Margaret for little holidays all the way from 189 Edwardes Street. What always got my cousins and me was that Aunty Margaret would say to me (or them) I will draw you a wee bath or I will pour you a wee drink or wee whatever in her Scottish brogue. I guess only a Scot could have the beach chairs out in winter in Reservoir in June! LOL! And she did like her whistling wee canaries! (Source: JR and BL Cockerell collection)
