This past Sunday, I participated in a very moving tribute to my father organized by the Physician Health Services, Inc. My father was a director in the organization and instrumental in helping hundreds of doctors who struggled with substance abuse regain their medical licenses. His work changed the lives not only of those doctors, but also all of the patients they could care for once again. The proceeds from the event will be used to sustain my fathers legacy by launching a long-term lecture series in his name for students at Massachusetts four medical schools. The lectures will work toward creating a culture of better self-care in support of the health of future physicians. My dad often spoke to students about his own personal challenges in support of this important cause. To contribute to the Michael Palmer, MD Medical Student Health Lecture Series, please visit: massmed.org/palmertribute/ The goal is for my fathers message to continue having a positive and tangible impact on medical student health for many decades to come. In friendship, Daniel James Palmer
