This past Sunday we heard a powerful message about stripping off the fear! We all deal with different fears from time to time, but we can be victorious over them in Jesus name. When you are at war with your fear, worshipping God is your greatest weapon. Faith-filled worship is turning your heart and mind towards God and recognizing Who He is and what He has done. Fear is focusing on the worst case scenario. In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat is scared about Judah being attacked by a few enemies, but he puts himself in a posture of worship. When we worship God, we guarantee Gods involvement in our situation. We might start in fear, but we can end in faith. We might start in panic, but we can end in peace. Lets be intentional about dealing with our fears. Trying to run away from our fears solves nothing. Lets live a lifestyle of worship. Worship God before the battle, remembering His precious promises. Worship God during the battle. Stay submitted to Him to stay in His protection. Worship God after the battle. Celebrate what He has done for you. Remember, the battle is not yours; it is the Lords. During your prayer time, be real with God. King Jehoshaphat basically said God, Im afraid, I dont know what to do. But my eyes are on You. Let that be our prayer when we are afraid, God, my eyes are fixed on You regardless of what happens. Check out Daniel 3:16-18... Now there was real faith from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, trusting God with their very lives in the face of what would have seemed like certain death for not bowing to idols/false gods. Fear says, What if... Faith says, Even if... Even if you lose your job. Even if that relationship doesnt work out. Even if the bad report comes in. Continue to worship God anyhow.
