This past week, ABC picked up an all Asian-American cast sitcom, Fresh Off the Boat, making it the first Asian-American cast sitcom in 20 years (since Margaret Chos All American Girl). Its a big deal, not just for Asian-Americans, but for America. The 12-yr old lead is going to be played by Jeff Yangs son, Hudson Yang, whom I met when Jeff and I sat on a panel together at NYU years ago. Back then, he was just a little monkey of a boy, unable to sit still in his chair and doing all kinds of mischievous, adorable stuff...
