This past year, Hank and I adopted two little boys - no, not - TopicsExpress

This past year, Hank and I adopted two little boys - no, not human, equine - a little medicine hat stud colt from Fallon, NV and a sorrel sabino gelding from Greenwood Stables which is run by Amy Bayes - we have so thoroughly enjoyed these boys and through the process our eyes were opened to a lot of misfortune, deceit, and disregard for horses. We sit in the middle of America, being here in Wichita and we are also finding ourselves in the middle of how this country regards horses. Many think of them as pets - as I do growing up in CT they were a luxury - but here in the mid-to-west they are thought of as livestock and tools. There is a lot of discussion about pro and anti-slaughter - we see it as a cruel way to dispose of horses as they are so inhumanely treated during the process of auction/shipping and slaughter. I will do anything possible to help re-home horses who would otherwise go to slaughter so on this page you will see me networking horses that I am helping, from this area, that need homes - Ive assisted in a few re-homings to date and if I dont know you personally, I do typically know of you from our mutual contacts so I feel comfortable with who steps forward. I will be posting a grade, sorrel mare later today - so please hang in there! Thanks so much, Carol Mazzacane Lambe
