April 21, 2014 Dear Ms. Koehler: Thank you, Michelle, for writing to Senator Ayotte about the opioid addiction and overdose issues facing NH and the nation. I am a special assistant to Senator Ayotte and handle first responder and homeland security issues for her. The Senator asked me to contact you. Because she has heard from so many NH families about this issue, she is devoting considerable attention to this national problem in her work in the U.S. Senate. The Senator is holding a round-table this week in Manchester, but this first one is focused on hearing from practitioners in the law enforcement and medical communities, and we are at capacity. There will be other sessions as she continues her work on this matter, but I would be pleased to meet with you and other family member effected by addiction.
