This photo was taken a few weeks ago when Patches first came home from hospital. She is on 20 mg of prednisone, 2 times a day. She is a collie and very, very sensitive to all medications. Her PCV had stabilized around 20. Last night she got very picky about eating and it was hard to get medication into her. Over night she had very bad diarrhea. This is the second time we have seen this cycle. Seems to be slightly improving and then the diarrhea and set back. Last time she got dehydrated and was back in the hospital. We just took her off of Feflunomide, which made her very ill. Wanted her to recoup from this and vet was going to try adding very low dose of Cyclosporine to see if we could get PCV higher. Looks like my vet wants to give her some Metronidazole right now. She was scheduled to have her numbers checked this Monday. Has anyone else seen this cycle of some improvement, then diarrhea and set back? Thank you! Patches is only 6 1/2 years young.
