This pleases me: October 28 - 29, 2014 | Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre Dear members of the Australian game development industry, For every GCAP event we strive to find speakers that are knowledgeable, but more importantly, inspirational. In our keynote and session speakers we seek to identify people that we know will stimulate conversation, are keen to share their experiences and have a genuine care for the Australian industry. Our keynote speakers are tasked with setting the tone for every conference. This is a big ask of anyone. Every year we seek speakers that complement activity in the Australian industry, so for GCAP 2014 we went looking for industry leaders that have taken creative risks and seen success for their effort. Now you get to hear their stories. I am very proud to announce that our keynote speakers for GCAP 2014 are Siobhan Reddy (Media Molecule), Rami Ismail (Vlambeer) and Barry Meade (Fireproof Studios). Siobhan Reddy is Studio Director at Media Molecule, the band of creative minds behind the hugely successful and innovative LittleBigPlanet game franchise. Siobhan has been recognised for her work with a number of accolades, including being named one of the Top 100 most powerful women in the UK by BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour and Qantas Australian Woman of the year in the UK, both in 2013. Rami Ismail is the Business & Development Guy at Vlambeer, a Dutch independent game studio known best for Wasteland Kings, Ridiculous Fishing, Super Crate Box, LUFTRAUSERS, GUN GODZ, Serious Sam: The Random Encounter & Radical Fishing. Barry Meade’s career started in Dublin, Ireland in 1992 working on health related edutainment titles for SNES, AMIGA and PC. In early 1994 he moved to the UK to join Bullfrog Productions Ltd. where he spent his time as a lead designer and artist/animator on titles such as Magic Carpet 1 & 2, Syndicate Wars, Dungeon Keeper and many others. At Criterion, Barry worked on BLACK, Burnout 3, 4 and Paradise, and in 2008 he and five friends left the company to form Fireproof Studios. Therell be a few more speaker announcements soon.
